Vörulýsing
The Couvent de Ribeauvillé entrusted us with its vineyard a few years ago. In 2009, we produced our first Grand Cru Geisberg from the 2.66 ha of the Vignoble du Couvent and we marketed it in 2015. It is the first Grand Cru Trimbach which bears its name on the label.
Pierre Trimbach and his team have been working on the Grand Cru Geisberg, blended in the “Frédéric Emile” (Geisberg and Osterberg located behind the estate), for many years. Their knowledge of this terroir has enabled them to produce a great wine.
The Geisberg is a jewel of Alsace: located between two other grands crus on the geological fault of Ribeauvillé, its limestone and sandstone subsoil, its old vines, its southern exposure and its small steep-sloping terraces make it a unique and complex terroirof only 8.5 ha: it is one of the smallest Alsace Grand Crus. The resulting Riesling is of great intensity and good energy, with finesse. A gastronomic wine suitable for long aging, between 10 to 30 years in excellent vintages.
It is the first wine from Grand Cru that we named by the name of its terroir, following the wish expressed by the Sisters of the Convent and the new legislation which came into force in 2001 and then in 2011 which reinforce the quality charter of the Grands Crus d'Alsace (control of maximum yields (55hl / ha), minimum alcohol potential at harvest (11.5 °), chaptalization prohibited, then specifications specific to each Grand Cru, etc ...)
Aging potential : 15 years and over.
